Misinformed People Become MORE Certain When Presented With Facts

“But here’s where it goes off the tracks: when presented with evidence showing that the governor was wrong, people who believed her didn’t change their minds. In fact, they actually believed the falsehood more! Instead of changing their minds, they concocted theories that there was a government conspiracy to fool us, to cover up the true level of violence along the border. The truth is that undocumented Mexicans are, on the whole, one of the most law-abiding groups in America, and there has never been a single case of a beheaded body found in the Arizona desert.”

    Chomsky on Atheism:

I don’t even know what an atheist is. When people ask me if I’m an atheist, I have to ask them what they mean. What is it that I’m supposed to not believe in? Until you can answer that question I can’t tell you whether I’m an atheist, and the question doesn’t arise. (Link)

    Make money.

      Steven Cloud:  wanna be rich?
      Pijohos:  yes
Steven Cloud:  invent a new religion. we worship a truly benevolent being called gosh. and it's just thinly disguised logic and reason and practical ways to insure you're being a decent person, but we get rich selling the books. we're still doing a good thing b/c the main tenet of the religion is that there are many ways to gosh. it's a post-modern religion in that everyone kind of follows it ironically, but they don't have to outright say they're an atheist
Steven Cloud:  it's kind of a code
      Pijohos:  praise gosh
